Joni and Friends is an international ministry that encourages and equips churches to welcome and embrace individuals effected by dissabilities. We intend this group to be a free resource for anyone who wants to adapt curriculum, make a sunday school classroom accessible, create communication boards, behavior supports and visual schedules. Please share any boards that you find helpful in making ministry accessible.

This group is for board designers who are comfortable with the basics of creating interactive boards and want to take advantage of the more sophisticated Boardmaker Plus features.

Resources for people teaching communication skills to children with severe physical and cognitive impairments. A focus on both partner assisted scanning and two switch auditory scanning.

Group for teachers in HISD who serve students in P.S.I programs (preparing students for independence). Children served by this group are NON-Verbal and Pre-Symbolic communicators and include students who are deaf/blind or have severe visual impairments including CVI, in addition many of the students have special health needs. This group is open to professionals who work with children to adults who are NON VERBAL & PRE-SYMBOLIC communicators.

As a parent of two children with special needs, I use boardmaker materials at home. This group will be a place to share materials made for a home environment.

This group is for Parents and professionals to discuss ways to make our children/adults lives more safe as well as to discuss what resources is needed to give them a voice to tell us when something isn't right. I am hoping we can brain storm ways to make communication boards that will reach all levels of communication needs instead of just a one size fits all for all their communicatin needs not just a few or just enough to get by. I believe we have the power together to be more creative and think outside of the box when it comes to giving our children/adults stronger voices.
