Description:
positive/negative behavior reinforcement system. I have all the green behaviors in a column on the left side of my wall. A big poster of a child being a good listener in the middle. And all the red behaviors in a column on the right side of my wall. Next to the wall near me, I have and extra good behavior page and the smiley face chart (red faces on the bottom with green smiley faces velcroed on top) where I can easily remove smiley faces. I have the kids start with 5 green smiley faces (velcroed over the red smiley faces). If they behave badly I take away the green smiley face. I like to velcro the green smiley they lost to the page showing good behavior to remind the child what he/she needs to do in order to earn the smiley face back. I velcro the students names on the left side of the smiley chart for each group I see. The goal is not to even need to direct the kids to the chart at all and that they will maintain 5 green smileys the entire session.
