This extensive set of boards (that's right, 102!) provides a matching activity to match word to icon. All 37 high frequency word families, plus 13 more, are all conveniently organized from two indexes. Each board provides a Repeat button for practice and a Scramble button for variety. And did I mention there are hidden clip sounds under some of the buttons? To teach the word families, leave the default Highlight Button setting (found under Dynamic Boards in the pull-down menu) to a frame width of 5 and the color red. (This gives a cue to the word family word and its matching icon.) To test comprehension, change the Highlight Button setting (found under Dynamic Boards in the pull-down menu) to a frame width of 0. (That removes the cue.)
