I use this activity as a component of a student's goal to match calendar elements. The following suggested directions are in the Boardmaker file. Suggested use: - print both pages on cardstock, laminate both pages - cut out each set of squares on this page -- keep one as a TEACHER SET and one as a STUDENT SET - attach velcro to the back of the STUDENT SET and attach cards to the blank spaces (first page) - using the TEACHER SET, show the student what year it is - student then uses the STUDENT SET to match the correct year (use a selection as big or small as needed) - student then places the correct choice on the blank square next to "The year is:" (highlight this square to point out its difference)
