Description:
This is an assessment that determines whether the student can receptively identify each word when given a set of 4 to choose from. The computer requests a word, in randomized order. The words are those taught in the Hooked on Phonics Program (the third set of words). There are 3 extra words, not taught in Hooked on Phonics, nag, lag and flag. At the top of each board, the student is asked, through spoken directions and picture cues of the word to find a specific word. Each response is sent to a message display box on the response page. The words can be reshuffled on each page so the student won’t memorize the position of the word. The responses can be printed out. The message board can be erased and from the response page, the student can go to a sorting page of an/at/ag words (previously taught words in Hooked on Phonics) or reward videos. From the video page the student can quit or start again.
