Description:

This is a low tech creative writing activity. Allow the students to cut apart the “letter” words (e.g., calf, old, warrior, etc..) or let a peer help them cut out the words as needed. Prompt the students to choose one “letter” word to fill in the blank for each letter of the word COWBOY. It can be used as a worksheet for students to cut out their choice of words for their poem to paste on the second sheet. It can be adapted so that they use highlighters to select the word they wish or use Velcro to take the pictures off and put the ones they select on the poem sheet. Print the Boardmaker files in either color or black and white.
