This low tech Cowchip Count activity was created by Emily Boyett, MA, CCC-SLP, ATP, with the Oklahoma Assistive Technology Center, University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, in Cooperation with the Oklahoma State Department of Education, Special Education Services. Suggestions for use: • You can provide the number and make the student count out the cowchips OR you can provide the cowchips and make the student give the number. • Consider using large chocolate chips as “cowchip manipulatives” for extra motivation!
