Description:
Cut cards out. Put irregular verbs (text) on the back of the corresponding irregular verb pictures. Collect materials such as blocks, crayons, etc. so children can do each of the verbs in the game. As they are doing the actions, display the verb and the "ing" card on a velcro strip and say, "You are jumping". Then say, "stop" and take the "ing" away. Ask, "What did you do?" For regular past, attach the "ed" to the velcro strip (student says, "I jumped.") For irregular past, put the crossed out "ed" on the strip. Tell them that the word needs to change. Flip the verb card over to reveal the irregular verb form.
