Description:
Phase 2 Asking for Help and Offering Help, in the second phase of the intervention the focus child and peers are taught in small group structured games how to ask for help, “I need help” and to offer help, “Can I help you?” The children respond with “Yes, please” or “No, thanks.” -Practice asking one another for help and offering help and then we begin the activity. -Prompt the peers to ask for help or offer help as appropriate, and prompts the peers to remind/prompt the focus child to request help if needed (i.e., “T, you can say, I need help?”). -Provide positive feedback, “Nice offering help” “You asked ____ for help” -Use visual reinforcement charts to reinforce independence.
