The following activity is based on a very simplistic children's book about an elephant named Trumpety Humpety. I have added in some basic question and answer formats with the corresponding answers off to the right hand side. I would cut out the answers and hard laminate everything so that it could be used as a comprehension activity. What I like about these kinds of activities is that the activity can be modified. In other words, if a child cannot answer the comprehension question, they can at least do a picture to picture match with the book (I also place velcro in the book with the corresponding objects) and if all else fails, you can have a basket of real objects and they can do an object to picture match. This activity is based on skill level more so than age and as I stated before could be modified in different ways. There will be a second page to follow.
