Description:
Cut and Paste Worksheet This is a follow up activity to the book, The Old Lady Who Swallowed a Bat. It was designed to sequence and recall events of the story. Awareness of ordinal numbers can be used as an extension of the activity. I made a large set of each of the items that she swallowed and a set of ordinal numbers to do as a group floor activity while reading the book. I have the numbers already placed in front of me and give each of the students a picture to place under each number as I read the book. I extend basic "wh" questions to include actions, sounds, and category identification. For example, "How does an owl move?", "What sound does a ghost make?", "What color is the...?", and "Is a cat a mammal or insect?".
